Shipping policy
This Shipping Policy explains how dnaPower Inc. (“dnaPower,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) ships testing kits and how customers should return collected samples. It should be read together with our Terms of Service, Return and Refund Policy, and Privacy Policy.
1. Where We Ship
dnaPower provides at-home testing services to customers in Canada and internationally. Shipping availability may depend on the destination, product, carrier service, and applicable customs or import requirements.
2. Shipping Your Testing Kit
Testing kits are shipped to the delivery address provided with your order. Please review your shipping information carefully before submitting your purchase. Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate address.
Carrier availability, shipping charges, and estimated delivery times may vary by destination and service selected. Any delivery estimate is an estimate only and may be affected by carrier delays, weather, customs processing, holidays, or other circumstances outside dnaPower’s reasonable control.
3. Canadian Sample Returns
For Canadian customers using a dnaPower cheek-swab kit, paid return postage is included.
Follow the sample-collection instructions included with your kit. Do not eat or drink for 30 minutes before taking the cheek-swab sample.
Place the swab in the tube with the stabilizing liquid and close the tube securely. Place the sample in the return envelope provided.
Add your return (“from”) address to the envelope.
Place the envelope in a Canada Post mailbox.
Mail cheek-swab samples to:
dnaPower Inc.
13520 Crestwood Place, Unit 12 Richmond, BC V6V 2G3
Canada
4. International Sample Returns
International customers should follow the return instructions included with their kit. Paid Canadian return postage does not apply to international returns unless dnaPower specifically provides a prepaid label for the order.
Secure the collected sample as directed and place it in the provided biohazard or return packaging.
Add your return (“from”) address to the package.
When requested for customs purposes, describe a cheek-swab sample accurately as a “buccal swab.”
Follow all carrier, postal, customs, and import/export requirements that apply in the country from which you are shipping.
dnaPower’s current international cheek-swab instructions advise customers that, where appropriate for the postal declaration, the parcel may be declared with a nominal value of $1.00 and described as a “buccal swab” to help avoid unnecessary customs charges. Customers remain responsible for completing customs documentation truthfully and in accordance with local law.
5. U.S. Sample Returns
For dnaPower U.S. cheek-swab kits that include a prepaid U.S. return label, use the carrier identified on the label (such as USPS, UPS, or FedEx). No additional postage is required when a valid prepaid return label is supplied.
If you choose a different or expedited courier service, additional shipping charges may be your responsibility.
6. Tracking and Confirmation of Sample Receipt
Where tracking is available, we recommend keeping your tracking information until your sample has been received. dnaPower currently advises customers that its team sends an email when a cheek-swab sample is received at the dnaPower office.
7. Sample Processing Time
For cheek-swab testing, dnaPower currently advises that processing takes approximately 3–5 weeks after the sample is received. Processing times are estimates and may vary depending on the test, laboratory workload, sample quality, holidays, retesting needs, or other operational factors. Some products may have different stated processing times.
8. Customs, Duties, Taxes, and International Delays
International shipments may be inspected or delayed by customs authorities. Unless dnaPower states otherwise for a specific order, customers are responsible for any duties, taxes, brokerage fees, return-postage charges, or other fees imposed by carriers or government authorities.
dnaPower is not responsible for delays caused by customs clearance, carrier disruptions, border processing, or local import restrictions.
9. Incorrect Addresses, Returned Packages, and Delivery Problems
Please contact dnaPower Customer Care promptly if you notice an address error or experience a delivery problem. If a shipment is returned or must be resent because of an incorrect or incomplete customer-provided address, additional shipping charges may apply.
If a package appears lost, damaged, or significantly delayed, contact us so we can review the available carrier information and determine the appropriate next step.
